Miranda und Charlotte leben glücklich verheiratet mit Mann und Kind in New York, Samantha ist für ihren jungen Lover nach L.A. gezogen und Carrie plant ihre Hochzeit mit Mr. Big. Das Leben könnte also besser nicht sein für die 4 Freundinnen, doch da ziehen erste Wolken am Himmel auf: Mirandas Mann gesteht einen Seitensprung und Carrie bekommt beim Einzug in die gemeinsame Wohnung wegen ihres Schuhfimmels Ärger mit Mr. Big. Als er am Tag der Hochzeit kalte Füße bekommt, ist die Katastrophe perfekt.
